Bio: Nigerian-American singer, Solu, and Fijian born singer, Sanna (pictured), are local artists here in the valley. Both began singing in the younger years of their lives and have pursued the arts into adult-good. At the age of 20 Sanna auditioned and made it to the season 3 finals of the acclaimed American Idol television series.Their performance aims to bring the powerful poem “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings,” by the late Maya Angelou, to life by marrying audio-visual arts into live performance. It is a blend if self-written accounts that give nod to a world through the lens of the acclaimed poem and that tie into the larger justice narrative taking rise in society.
